The Corporation has only one operating subsidiary in the engineering field with the capability to provide services to satisfy the particular project needs of its client.
KAPL headquartered in Mumbai, provides engineering & construction services for a broad range of project types, industries serviced by KAPL include environmental, hydrocarbon processing, industrial power and mineral processing.
KAPL incorporates the vital ingredients of constructability, operability, safety considerations and maintenance into the design facility. To produce the working documents for procurements and fabrication of all materials required to construct a complete and operable plant, the company employs an integrated team of professionals in all the required disciplines i.e., architectural, civil, structural, piping, mechanical, electrical and instrument engineers. The design draftsmen are skilled and qualified to carry out their specialities of preparing the necessary design drawings.
KAPL design engineers are capable of providing detailed engineering designs from preliminary design packages furnished by KAPL, the client or third party engineering firms.
KAPL offers comprehensive project management services, which enables clients to deal with one firm through all the phases of the project. This approach centralizes input from the client, KAPL engineers and designers, vendors and sub-contractors.
KAPL typically executes projects using the task force approach. Under this approach, a Project Manager heads a team of qualified core individuals assigned exclusively to the project for the duration of their work on it. Personnel assigned to the project are located in the common area of the office. This provides for improved communications and productivity within the project team.
The Project Manager assigned to each project is thoroughly familiar with the requirements of plant design and construction. He will be supported by cost and schedule control personnel and systems that will provide him with the most current and accurate project information on which he can base project decisions.
Precise Dimensional Control, using advanced survey equipment combined with proprietary software, three dimensional models are created by direct measurement to critical plant items such as flange tie – in points, support locations and route corridor models.
Rapid Laser Scanning for data capture and measurement. Collecting millions of real world 3D coordinate points to support preparation of either point cloud, CAD plant model, or 360 degree wrap around panoramic views. The cloud point data can be input into existing CAD packages for clash testing of new design concepts against the real world plant.
The above services are being undertaken by our JV Company NB Surveys Kirpalaney Private Limited, Mumbai – INDIA.

Construction capabilities are available from KAPL limited to provision of SPOOL drawings for fabrication of piping & site supervision and construction personnel.
Using SPOOLGEN, through a team of experienced spoolgen operators, which would mean processing of IDF’s and PCF’s generated from 3D modelling software’s and generation of accurate and consistent weld mapped isometrics and spool sheets based on clients specification for further fabrication of piping.
Site supervisors / erection personnel only on contractual periods for specific on site work in all disciplines. The home office and field construction engineering staff is committed to the successful completion of each project. Management personnel stay in constant contact with the project staff, including numerous on site visits and in-depth reviews. These home office commitments are reflected in the demand for quality workmanship, aggressive safety programs, high productivity and strict adherence to project budgets and schedules.
KAPL believes a schedule which is properly assembled, organized and monitored is the most efficient means of project communication available for today's complex engineering construction projects. Scheduling is the act of accumulating information from all the individuals, departments and companies involved in a project, formulating this information into a project plan of action that is factual and easily understood and updating and monitoring this plan of action to ensure the completion of the project on time and within budget. KAPL accomplishes this by developing detail arrow and precedence CPM networks utilizing the in-house computerized scheduling system.
A primary pre-requisite to the expeditious performance of a project is the procurement and control of the materials and equipment required for the fabrication of the facility. KAPL fully recognizes the importance of procurement and timely delivery of the materials and equipment to the project site.
KAPL has a staff of qualified and experienced personnel available to ensure that quantity surveys are accurate, competitive prices from vendors are obtained, and requisitions and purchase orders are properly prepared.
They also make sure the requisitions are coded to a code of accounts in the control estimate, promised delivery dates are kept, and an orderly flow of materials and equipment to the project site is maintained to ensure that the materials arrive before they are needed.
KAPL Quality Control System controls the design, materials and fabrication of boilers, pressure vessel and piping system so that quality meets or exceeds the requirments of the Code. Field quality control is maintained by KAPL inspector under the direction of KAPL's Quality Assurance Department. In addition, many of KAPL's engineering personnel have construction and fabrication experience and are called on to assist in these matters.
Vendor inspection services are also performed by the Company. A staff of qualified inspection personnel is maintained at various locations and is available for inspection of material and equipment at the manufacturers facilities as per the clients scope.
